What Now?

Well, I am muddling my way through blogging and discovering Social Media and how it works.
I have only published 2 small blogs on my website at Fine Art America, neither of which received much attention, so I will resume my endeavors here.
Did you ever look at your old art work and wonder why you ever thought it was any good at all?
I think that no matter, or how much "better" you think you have progressed to today there IS something to be learned from your older paintings, drawings and photographs. From time to time I will even 'go hang out' with them and rediscover what my brush strokes look like, the love I poured into that piece.
It is the same with my photography.
I look at old shots I took as a Combat Photographer, work with a much different subject matter, things that I could not, nor would I ever sell or post for public display. Yet they all tell a story still today.
One of the most important aspects of any form of 'artwork' is that the image reveals a mood or a story for the viewer. It should be a journey for the observer to enjoy.
Something a purchaser wants to know more about and an image that will bring them back over and over again to the art. So what can I learn to better improve from my 'old work'? Something that will stimulate a viewer into a purchase?
I do not have an answer to that!
Why? because I do not paint for a 'perspective buyer'. I paint. I photograph. It is from my soul. No one can invade that space nor influence me.
So, that is why I am presuming that I have 'older works' I am able to revisit and love on and learn from. And that is OKAY!
Even great marketing won't be successful if your art is not the best. Go look at some of your 'old work', revisit, hold it upside down, tear it up and make a collage!
I have decided to fine tune my skills, learn new methods, experiment, learn! As much as I can!
Not only in the art/photography world, but in this newly rapidly growing world of Social Media.
I hope I do my future customers and new blog followers justice and that not only my art, but my blogs will bring you back to follow my journey everyday!
